Lots Of Little First Details..

In order to try to describe discovering I had a disorder, well at the start all I can say I remember was waking up after the first blackout. I didn't know what happened or understand why people were standing around me asking if I was ok. I was disorientated, nauseous and blurry eyed. I felt like I have never felt before. It’s not the normal feeling like if you bang your head on a door, or being dizzy - to be honest it was unexplainable. I'm just lucky I wasn’t alone when this first happened. I was in college a few years back and it just popped out of the blue. My heart plummeted and I have never been so scared before.

It took a while for me to come around but luckily I had close friends with me so they did look after me and helped me after I had the seizure. I was terrified as I’m sure many others are after having things like panic attacks, anxiety attacks and epileptic seizures. That day I cried so many tears I didn’t even realise it was possible. I didn’t know really what had gone on and I didn’t know what to do. I had so many thought’s going on in my head:

'Shall I tell Mum and Dad?
Shall I call in sick tomorrow for college just in case it happens again?
Do people now think I’m weird?'
The main question I asked myself was …is there something wrong with me?

I’m sure many of these thoughts have gone through others heads. They aren’t very nice thoughts as I’m sure you would all agree. After I had my first seizure I didn’t tell anyone, though now when looking back I do regret that. I held it off and kept it between me and my friends; I was embarrassed and ashamed of what had happened and I now know I shouldn’t have been. I shouldn’t have thought of all those thoughts but automatically without thinking all these worries just came out and made me keep panicking and fretting what the next day was going to bring. After that day of my first seizure my self-esteem, confidence and health went to an all-time low. It luckily didn’t happen for about 2 months but every day was a constant worry for me. I tried to avoid social events and without sounding silly I did try to even avoid sitting at my dinner table at home for too long. I tried to avoid as much as I could to prevent my parents from finding out.

Photo takenoff www.candlelightconcert.org.

Luckily my friends were there for me and tried to help me with anything they could. I will always give my heart to those that have helped me through my tough times. Sadly after two months it started to get worse and happened a few times over about a week. This continued for about 3 months and then for some reason it laid dormant and I didn’t have it until last March. Before the seizure lied dormant, my friends were getting very worried about me. Always asking if I’m ok and helped me with college work as I was too busy panicking and being scared to think about it. They tried to make me happy and live a normal life that a 16 year old should have had.. although unfortunately this wouldn't be the case for me.

Has anyone else ever suffered, or lived this way?

Epilepsy..The Starting Point..

Hi and welcome to my little bit on my blog.  My name’s Alice Rose i'm 20, and i’m a sufferer of a life condition you've probably heard of called Epilepsy. I was officially diagnosed with it in 2011 although like many illnesses I had to struggle to get it properly recognised. Living with this condition forced me to make a lot of changes to my lifestyle a lot of them are quite limiting. Having uncontrollable seizures also brought a lot of negativity to my life and relationships as a side effect besides the fits themselves. I’m sure a lot of fellow sufferers out there also feel the same and so I want to not only share my story here, but pass on the advice that I've learned. Hopefully people don’t have to suffer if my experiences can help instead! I have found ways to lessen or deal with symptoms, notice warning signs and importantly get my mind off of the illness. They helped me get past the worst part of my life although dealing with the illness is still a daily struggle and I don’t have a cure, a lot of the time I do have very good days too! I know that if I can keep going and share, then others don’t have to feel alone so my idea is that art, fashion and the way you think can change your perception of Epilepsy in a positive way. In my upcoming posts I’ll try to show this to you all and I very much hope that I can learn from you all too! <3

Pop Couture Christmas Collection..

A few weeks ago I had the lucky chance of going to London to see Pop Couture's Christmas Collection with other bloggers. Well I'm new to blogging so it was lovely to meet other bloggers and ask them questions and just nice to meet new people. I headed up to London after work with my lovely friend Holly who invited me along. I don't really know London so it was great that Holly had done a great plan of how to get there and times of transport! We live a few hours away so it was a heck of a trek! But was worth it.

I was so worried about what clothes to wear and how to look as i had never been to an event like this before. But everyone there and the Pop Couture hosts all made us feel very welcome. Another thing me and Holzie loved was the venue 'Neo' was lovely.

We got given some lovely tins of goodies :) Including a t shirt, necklace some sweeties :) Was a lovely gift.

There was a table full of  from Pop Couture products. From glittery handbags to gorgeous necklaces and earrings. Just made you want to go on the website and buy!

There were also lots of glittery stars on the tables making it looks very sweet and christmassy.

All of the clothes were lovely. From jackets to blouses, there were also a range of dresses and shorts. Every girls wardrobe dream. There was so much detailing on some of the clothing it looked amazing.

There was a mixture of colours. I really loved the jackets on show, as well as the metallic look.  I would most definitely recommend to have a look at their website as its everyone's taste there's such a wide range of clothes. We had to choose one item of clothing. So i chose a lovely black dress. It was lovely. It had slits at the side which made is a bit more of a party dress and would look lovely on a night out.  I didn't actually know what item of clothing to choose as the range was all lovely.

The mannequin above shows some of the great clothes on show. As you can see it also shows the blouse with the embellishment on the collar and also is wearing the lovely sequin skirt.

At the event there was also a makeup artist there giving all the girls different ideas to do with their make-up. Me and Holly had a lovely colour lipstick from MAC in which with her also adding some glitter on top. It looked amazing. A great night out look although feeling really funny on your lips. :)

I had a really lovely evening and was great to meet others. Thank you Pop Couture!!

Lots of Little Bits in London..

Well I'm sure as you all know London is amazing to shop! It's so exciting and the shops well where could i start! There are so many! I went there to do some Christmas shopping on Saturday and well i cannot believe how busy it is at this time of year! So many shops and so little time. (Although i did drag my partner there for 11!) Ha. Well as I'm sure you've all seen Starbucks is almost everywhere (apart from where i live) and well there drinks are so yummy and a nice treat to have once in a while as well as being a kick start to the day. I have never been a coffee fan.. I'm more a Herbal Tea kind of girl. But i went out there and had a 'Praline Latte'. WOOHHH its strong and made me buzz for hours!!!

Yumm! With loads of squirty cream on top! Every girl's dream. I was double naughty though and had a double chocolate muffin!! Was a lovely start to the day and it also made the partner happy :).

London's christmas lights looked incredible.. and they were everywhere. They were either funny or sweet ones. Ranging from Marmite advertising to little fairy twinkle lights.

WARNING MARMITE ADVERT BELOW!!
(As you can see they also have put peoples faces in the middle as Santa Claus!!!)

Another thing I had noticed was there Window Dressing was so outstanding and eye grabbing. I would love to be a Window Dresser but this is a very hard career to get into. I love looking at other shops work and helping my idea or this career expand. My favourite was Selfridges & Co. They had such a wide range of ideas and all promoting there products. And all very Christmassy!

I really like the idea of a girly sleepover. In a tent in which looked to be made out of fabrics that they sell in-store. There was trees, the Mannequin was wearing shoes and clothing in which is also sold in-store. I also love the fake miniature pizza's on the floor :).

There was also an amazingly funky Santa. He i definitely in the 20th Century.

Showing a PINK santa slay! With some luxurious lingerie on mannequin's.
GINGERBREAD HOUSE!!! also showing basket full's of goodies!!

I'm sure you all love sweets. This was one of my favourite display's!! There were sweets falling off of a  treadmill.! It was sweet heaven... There were sweets everywhere!! it was one of them moments where you wanted to just jump into all of the chocolate!! It reminded me of Charlie and His Chocolate Factory!! So scrumdidilyumtious!!!

Have any of you seen the displays? And all excited too i hope! 20 DAYS!!

Not all for giving and receiving its all abut being with your family and enjoying the spirit of Christmas! But well for your family or friends little Santa Sacks i have a few odd ideas that wont get you totally out of of pocket!

I don't know about you all but i LOVE Vaseline!!! Every girl has to have a pot! Looks nice and shiny, makes your lips silky smooth. From the hot summer days... to the freezing cold days in winter where your lips go all sore and horrible!!

Well look at what i bought the other day. A BIG version of the Vaseline but a tin!. There is 3 little Vaseline tins in it and all different colours and flavours.

Vaseline Tin:- Tesco

It was a total bargain and a great christmas treat for any girl. Its a limited edition tin and looked gorgeous!.

Another amazing treat is socks. I am a huge fan of socks. From colours to styles. They make your feet warm which is the best part of it especially in these winter times!! But they also look lovely on your feet and can sometimes make your outfit look funky!

I found some gorgeous Christmas pudding.. reindeer and funky designed socks.

Socks:- Peacocks

These were only three of a range of Christmas socks at Peacocks. I would most definitely recommend to get these they are sooooo cute!

I thought I would also add my first Christmas tree to my post I hope you like it :)

All glittery! And i have even wrapped up a few presents and under the tree already!

Have any f you put your tree up?

Lots of Little Avon Lipsticks..

I don't know about you all but I have never really been the biggest one for buying lipsticks... I thought it wouldn't suit me, or it would look silly, or i may just look over the top. Although recently i have been buying them! After seeing in fashion magazines different colours, different lip balms, glosses and  new styles out i thought why not?! And now my opinion has changed totally! I wear them nearly every day! Here's a few to check out and see if anything would be good for you.

'Pink Holiday' Lipstick:- Avon

The above was a lipstick from the Avon 'Colour trend' collection. I had never tried the collection before so i thought what the heck! The specific colour and style i chose looks very trendy and up to date. I really liked the colour pink and as i hadn't ever tried pink lipstick before i thought i may as well try it.
The lipstick looks lovely. It isn't too much but isn't anything at all. The 'Colour trend' lipstick is easily applied and looks very nice and fresh when put on. I would most certainly recommend the above lipstick to everyone. It looks fresh and a cute girly colour :) and will go with many outfits. It could be used in the day or evening! So would be out to great use. Even if you have dry lips (like i have) it still looks as normal as anyone's! So its a big plus.

Here is another review for a lipstick in which is another product from Avon.

'Rosey Gold' Lipstick:- Avon

This lipstick was easy to apply. Its quite shiny and very glitzy! So if you girls are after a great lipstick for a night out then definitely choose this one! It will make your lips looks great.  I noticed when applying it helps plump them out a bit in which is always a good thing!  Its a lovely colour although it would only be suitable with certain coloured outfits. Its a cheap and cheerful lipstick so i would definitely put this on your list of products to buy!

Have any of you tried these?

I will be posting more reviews about lipsticks soon so keep checking out my blog :)

Lots of Little Nail Art Designs..

Well i love nail designs. Trying new ideas and designs and just being a bit different when it comes to Nail Art. I really am not the biggest fan of Acrylic Nails as they damage your nails terribly ( From a personal experience ). Although i do always think that if you are in the right frame of mind and like to try new things this would be a great idea for you. I try different colours together, different sparkly nail polishes as shown on my previous blog on the 6th of November 2012. As the tools you don't have to go out and buy them expensive all you need is cocktail sticks and a steady hand!.

Nail Polish:-
Dark Pink: Barry M @ Superdrug
Light Pink: Rimmel London @ Superdrug
White: Barry M @ Superdrug
Glitter Varnish: Barry M @ Superdrug

The above is just a little something i did. I used three certain colours in which combined work very well and a glitter varnish. I had made thus up as i went along. I used two different colour pinks in which i thought looked good together due to the contrast from the light oink to the darker pink. I also used white on a few of the designs just to help it stand out a lot more. As you can see i painted polka dots on two of the nails and on my thumb i painted a heart with cocktail sticks. I had also added glitter varnish onto the middle finger nail as i thought it would add a bit of glam. I really like the design above as it stands out from other designs out there that are home made and i hope that many other girls would like a design like this!

The next design to show is painted by myself and its is roses painted onto a red background, so the image of the rose would stand out a lot more. I was really happy with this design and thought it looked very elegant and not too bad considering it being painted by cocktail sticks!

Nail Polish:- Rimmel London @ Superdrug

Here i have tried to use elegant colours and make it look detailed. This was a very hard task to do. Although i did succeed :) Many colleagues were complimenting them.. Even when i went to the hospital A and E they said it! I am pleased with the design above :) and was very flattered with people noticing my Nail Art.

The next design is quite simple but elegant. I used one plain colour of varnish. Waited for this to dry. Then on a few nails i added a glitter varnish. Then after adding white polka dots on these.

Dark Blue: Barry M @ Superdrug
Glitter Varnish: Barry M @ Superdrug
White:- Barry M @ Superdrug

I like the above nail design as its plain and simple to do even if your a busy lady although... you can always have time to paint your nails!  Its very girly although elegant at the same time. And the colours all entwine well together.

I really hope that you like my designs and if there are any ideas you can advise or if you have any comments then please do :) I would always love to get some feedback regarding my designs as i am really into this at the present moment and want to know whether its good or not :). Just to also advise you all i would Definitely ALWAYS recommend to wear a base coat of nail polish! Otherwise you Nails will get stained! It happened to me before and i have learnt my lesson :)

Thank you Love Alice  <3

Barry M Nail Polish's

Well me myself I love nail painting. I have done many designs using many different brands of nail polish’s . I have used from L'Oreal to Rimmel London and all i have different reviews on.

I recently had noticed that Barry M had brought out a new selection in their patch in shops. They had brought one out called 'Gelly'  Ultra Shine Nail Polish.

I have stocked up on the selection below. In my opinion these Gelly Nail Varnish's are a lot smoother and are a lot thicker than the normal Barry M nail varnish's. They paint on a lot easier, dry quicker and do what they say on the tin in which is show ultra shine!. They only have a limited selection in store  but they are gorgeous colours as you can see. They are roughly the same prices as normal Barry M Nail Varnishes although this selection only needs one coat unlike other brands and selections. I would most certainly recommend these to people who love Nail Painting. The are a bargain buy and look stunning when on, if your cleaning the dishes to even going for a night out. And they seem to not chip as easily as other nail polishes on the market. (Always do a top coat too to give it that extra strength). Please try and tell me what you think :)

I have also seen a wider range of nail shimmers/sparkles out on the market. They can be to put over a normal colour to add some sparks or just on its own to keep your nails simple but sexy. I have tried out three of the new Barry M nail glitter polishes
They come in multiple shades and colours.

The nail glitter looks lovely when its on and it helps thicken the nail polish underneath so it last a lot longer. The only down side to wearing Nail Glitter is when trying to take it off it take's longer than just taking off normal nail polish. So you would have to soak your nails in nail varnish remover then scrub! I love nail design and making my nails look prettier or just a bit different. It doesn't take that much time and it inspires other people to do their nails differently. So i would most certainly recommend the above Nail Polishes. They look lovely and just add a bit of sparkle to your day.
Has anyone tried any of these?

KEEP CALM AND PAINT YOUR NAILS

Lots of Little Testers..

Well this week as I have been off, and have been shopping a tad too much! I have seen many products being advertised on the TV and many products around the shops which I really wanted to try!  I saw advertised a new beauty product by ‘Maybelline New York’ in which was a new brand of concealer, powder and foundation. See I never really wear foundation or powder. As the majority of foundation is very …

· Thick and looks very fake on your skin as well as feeling quite heavy.
· It clogs up your pores. (Making you quite spotty)
· And is normally very expensive

The brand in which I have tried is ‘Fit Me’. There is a variety of Numbers to choose as you can see from my photo below in which helps to match your skin tone. This brand a gel based formula unlike others in which contain waxes and fillers (In which masks your face). I was a bit hesitant when trying this although in the end I’m very happy with the way the foundation looks and feels. It doesn't make your face feel thick and like many other foundations on the Market.

Foundation .. Concealer .. Powder
All on a 3 for 2 price from Superdrug. So a better deal overall

I would certainly recommend the new formula to anyone out there in which wants to try a new product. It definitley worked for me and i'm sure will for others. It would be great if anyone who has tried this to comment and tell me there experience with this product.

Another product i saw and got recomended from a friend to try was a Nail Strengthener from Sally Hansen. I don't know if any of you have had the experience but i once upon a time had acrylic nails put on. They looked lovely! Although they don't last long at all. I had them on for 2 weeks and then had to have infills. I did this once and due to the high profile of work you have to do with acrylics and  due to it being a lot of money when you amount it all up. I then took the acrylics off after about a month and i have never seen my nails so flimsy and damaged. Recently i have tried so many brands of  nail strengtheners although none of them were helping my nails. I'm sure many of you have been through the same experience.

The nail strengthener is a great product and has helped my nails get stronger. I would most certainly recommend the above for if you have the same problem as me.

Nail Strengthener :- Superdrug

Have any of you used the above products or bought anything like this recently?

Lots of Little Winter Warmers..

Well I’m sure as you all agree, when being off one off of work one of the main priorities is shopping! Well if you look what’s out in stores at the moment you won’t want to stop shopping (as it proves in my case).  Although being miserable weather you just have to keep trotting on! As you can see above is one of my new outfits.

Cardigan: - Sainsbury's   Skirt:-River Island  Bangles: - New Look

I really love the detailing in the skirt and the softness of the cardigan, it’s so thick, warm and very snuggly J  the only problem with the skirt is it’s not very suitable in the wind as it just flies up like anything! So just a heads up if you wear a skirt this one then id propose to definitely wear a long jacket! It’s a very cute and stylish outfit and would go for many body shapes as the skirt accentuates your thighs and hips more. And the cardigan isn't too tight so many people and many shapes can wear clothing like this.

As you can all also see is a zoomed version of the Bangles from New Look as discussed above. They are very pretty and comfortable jewellery to wear as I’m sure you all know there are many bangles being bought that are so uncomfortable. You wear them once and never again. So I would definitely advise you all to go shopping for some bargain buys like I have got above J you don’t have to spend a lot to look good!
Below I am now going to show you a fabulous invention! It is amazing. Doesn't it annoy you when the weather gets colder, the big jackets come out, woolly gloves, woolly hats and one side effect of the coldness is cold hands! I have this terribly, at some points it even feels as if your hands are going to fall off! (Especially when they go purple/blue) Not a great look. Although I have found a great discovery, this being automatic hand warmers. All it is, is a click of a metal disc and it warms up straight away. They can be taken with you in your handbag, to work, shopping even walking the dog. I would certainly recommend the below. I have taken a snap shot of them. They are very pretty. After using them they do go rock hard, so all that you would have to do when getting home is put them in boiling water then they are ready to use again.

Hand warmers: - Avon

I would love to hear any comments or to see whether anyone like or has these products and clothing. What is your opinion?

Thanks Alice <3

Saturday 3 November 2012

Well as you can see the below is my first blog J As you all knowI am Alice Rose. I love everything to do with fashion, accessories and overall anything involved within beauty!
In the past even from when I was a little girl I used to join competitions for young girls wanting to be in fashion. Like the time when I was about 8 years old and I had to design a pair of jeans. This was for the old clothing shop MK One.  I came 5th out of a couple of hundred. The jeans were awful when I look at then now! (I will post a picture at some point) But I just loved the designing and embroidery side of fashion overall. I had made my design out of pair of my mum's old jeans.  I stuck and sewed so many things! I got very far in the competition, although being so young. I've always tried to get myself out there. It’s all I have ever wanted to pursue further in my career. Fashion is for the love of it as well as i feel. Last year my brothers and sisters had never had a stocking so I sewed, embroidered and designed a stocking for each of them by hand. It was the fact that I had a huge smile off of their little faces. That’s the thing that made my heart melt. They were so excited that they had a specific stocking each and that It was made by their older sister! So this really shows that fashion is also made from the heart.
I will try to show you all my artistic flare in a wide variety of fashion to beauty. I will also soon write to you all about how my recovery from my severe rare epilepsy was helped by drawing and fashion. I do hope that it may inspire many other people out there who have been through the same awful experience and just show them that they aren't alone. And to share my experiences with people like myself.
Well I do hope you like my blog and feedback would be great and much appreciated J
Thanks

Alice <3
